Some thoughts on this occasion:
Old age isn't so bad when you consider the alternative.
The first half of life consists of the capacity to enjoy without the chance; the last half consists of the chance without the capacity.
If youth knew; if age could.
Find an aim in life before you run out of ammunition.
By the time we've made it, we've had it.
By the time you decide to look for greener pastures, you're too old to climb the fence.
Growing old is mandatory. Growing up is optional.
