Charges were filed against a woman for "cyber bullying" a 13 year old teen to a point that she committed suicide. The story is here.
I don't know if the courts will have success with this or not, but I'm happy charges were filed. While there may not have been intent for Megan to kill herself, it's non the less a twisted thing for an adult to do. Lori Drew intentionally conspired to antagonize Megan. Personally, I don't see this as much different that verbally threatening someone . . . which can get you arrested.
People will scream "free speech!". But the truth of the matter is that free speech has consequences. And when those consequences lead to actions that result in fatalities, people need to be held accountable. No. Lori shouldn't be charged with murder. But, Megan was already predisposed to being very vulnerable. Lori took advantage of that. It was a deliberate and calculated action to get Megan to do harm to herself. That's wrong. Had Megan been an adult, I might think different about this. But, she's not, and I think Lori is pathetic. To do this because her own daughter had a falling out with Megan.
What a great mom. What a great role model she is.
What a shitbag she is. I hope she gets time.
